When a huge window of time opened up, I searched for a passion project, a time filler. Mural my bedroom wall was apparently the first thought that popped into my head. After searching high and low for inspiration and ideas, I decided on an homage to Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, found at the Musée de l’Orangerie. Sand down the doors, paint the entire wall blue, and then layer all of the paint on with a certain technique — finger-painting. The fruit of three months of effort, when the lighting was just right.
